Location: Joondalup Bus Depot
Project Description:
Engtech is conducting investigations in response to the migration of Phase Separate hydrocarbon (PSH) and Dissolved Phase Hydrocarbon (DPH), associated with the loss of an estimated 140,000 litres of diesel fuel in September 2006 into the underlying soil profile and superficial karst groundwater aquifer. A total of approximately 68,300L (27th January 2010) of PSH has been recovered at the site. (Click here for full details)

Project: Gascoyne Junction Asbestos Investigation & Remediation
Client: McConnell Dowell
Location: Gascoyne Junction, WA
Project Description:
McConnell Dowell (McDow) is currently establishing a camp site to support the workforce involved in constructing the third section of the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP). This section of the DBNGP is referred to as Loop 3, and is located approximately 45km north of Gascoyne Junction in the Pilbarra region of Western Australia (MBS, 2009).
Engtech was engaged by Toxfree to undertake a detailed site investigation (DSI) of a previously identified asbestos containing material (ACM) contaminated site located immediate east of the Loop 3 campsite (approximately 20,000m2). The occurrence of asbestos fragments and fines, as a result of various historical practices on the site, represented a significant health risk for the large work force. Engtech undertook a remediation and validation programme for this remote worker’s camp. (Click here for full details)

Client: Great Southern Fuel Supplies/Lumley Insurance (Australia) – a division of Wesfarmers General Insurance Ltd
Location: Narrogin, WA
Project Description:
As a result of a double road train roll-over at a topographically high point of town, approximately 35,000 L of diesel fuel was discharged and spread for up to 1km through the streets, private residences, native bushland, stormwater network and surface water courses of the town of Narrogin.
Engtech was engaged to project manage the residual clean-up, and assess the remaining environmental impact and risk. It was essential that the works carried out (and subsequent reporting) met the standards required by the local Shire, State regulators, local community and relevant insurance companies.
